Teen Book Club January Selection is Seraphina by Rachel Hartman

Seraphina has spent her life keeping her head down and trying not to attract attention. The only call she has not been able to resist is that of music, which is how she ends up being assistant to the Royal Court Composer of Goredd. However, with the anniversary of the treaty between the dragons and the humans of Goredd coming up and the recent murder of Prince Rufus, Seraphina finds herself caught up in events that could thrust her home into war and bring up the secrets buried in her past that may endanger Seraphina’s life as well. I adore this book. Once I started reading it I couldn’t put it down. It was the perfect blend of mystery and intrigue laced with fantasy and adventure for me. I will look forward to anything else this author may write and will heartily recommend this title. This title could work for either older children or young adults depending on their reading level and it’s my favorite book from this year. (from thelibraryprivateer.wordpress.com)
