To The Mendocino County Library Community:

Thank you to everyone for your understanding and patience during this unusual time. As a library there has never been a time where we have had to close and usually we have found ways to remain open during emergencies being a touchstone for the community during that time. In March, we found libraries throughout the country having to make the tough decision to close their doors and unfortunately, we had to make this choice for Mendocino County.

During the time we have been closed, we have worked diligently to provide service online and through social media while still providing phone assistance at each of our branches. We have increased online materials and our online databases to provide more access for all during this unusual time.

Finally, we are happy to begin our plans to phase in our reopening of the Mendocino County Libraries. We are currently providing curbside pick-up at all of our branches. This is a new venture for us, as we navigate how to provide materials in this unconventional way. I ask for your patience as we do our best to provide service for everyone while still following rules and guidelines that we are required to adhere to. For myself and the library staff, we genuinely miss having the libraries operate as usual, miss our daily interactions with the community and providing quality service to everyone.

Mendocino County Library misses you all and we are glad to begin to provide curbside pick up, we only ask for your patience as we do our best to serve the community we love.

Thank You,

Karen Horner
County Librarian
