Westport Hotel ’60s Celebration Afternoon Tea Benefit
in support of
Fort Bragg Branch Library’s Expansion Project

Highway One at Seaview, 38921 CA-1, Westport, CA 95488

Westport Hotel will host a display of Sixties Rock and Roll Posters from San Francisco’s Avalon Ballroom and other venues. The collection was given to Friends of the Fort Bragg Library by the late Diana Leon.

Diana was raised in San Francisco, graduated from California School of Fine Arts (San Francisco) in 1960 and sold her ceramics in Griffin’s Egg Pottery Studio starting in 1965. Her Noe Valley studio was on the concert publicity route for bands performing at the Avalon Ballroom.

As an artist and designer, Diana knew these posters and handbills were outstanding works of art and destined to be collected. After displaying them in her shop, she preserved and protected them in archival storage.

The Friends received the posters as part of Ms. Leon’s generous bequest supporting their building project at the Fort Bragg Branch of Mendocino County Library. The Westport Hotel graciously agreed to display the posters in their dining area.

The show begins in June and runs through August. On the summer solstice, June 21, 2025, the Westport Hotel has an Afternoon Tea benefiting the Friends of Fort Bragg Library “Library Expansion Project.” This project was near and dear to Diana Leon, who donated her home and estate to the Friends of Fort Bragg Library.

The concert posters and cards will be on display through August, after which time, buyers can claim their selected items in person or arrange shipping.

Support our Expansion Project by attending this Summer Solstice Tea benefit event at Westport Hotel.
