Glasswings: A Butterfly‘s Story

Reading & Art Lesson with children’s author, Elisa Kleven

As part of “Wild About Butterflies (and other Pollinators) Month”, Fort Bragg Library is hosting a reading and art lesson with special guest, Elisa Kleven.

Lost in the city, a butterfly with see-through wings makes friends with a ladybug, an ant, and a pigeon, and together they help flowers bloom and grow.

Artist/Author Bio:

Elisa Kleven writes and illustrates picture books because she’s never outgrown her childhood passion for art and story-making. Having spent much of her childhood creating colorful miniature characters and settings, Elisa now creates similar worlds inside of her picture books.

A self-taught artist, Elisa is the author and/or illustrator of over thirty books. Her books have received many honors, including a New York Times Best Illustrated Book Award for SUN BREAD. Her illustrations ABUELA, by Arthur Dorros, are currently touring children’s museums nationwide as part of an exhibit of seven classic children’s books.
