From Amazon.comPresenter and art critic, Waldemar Januszczak, sets out on a journey of discovery across the Muslim world. He reveals a world of inspiring architecture and treasures and brings the largely unknown and fascinating story of Islamic art into the public eye.

“Atmosphere of Paradise”

Review By Madelynne Morris

This documentary of Islamic art and architecture is epic and engrossing which is fitting for the subject at hand. Beautifully filmed with a genius narrative by Waldemar Januszczak, the viewer gets to see both the meaning in the obscure details as well as the “atmosphere of Paradise” that Januszczak enlists as his descriptor of the core of Islamic art. Amazon says this documentary stars Kiefer Sutherland and Nastassja Kinski, but they were totally unnecessary given the splendor, richness, and timeless beauty interwoven with Januszczak’s boundless knowledge of the history behind the art and his deep respect and love for the gorgeous contributions of Islam to world heritage.
