Community Meetings

What does your library mean to you?

In March, the Mendocino County Library hosted 3 community meetings on strategic planning for the future direction of the library.  In continuing the move in this direction, the Library is hosting 2 additional public meetings: one at Round Valley Public Library and the other at Coast Community Library.

Whether you currently use the library or not, your opinion is important to us! These two community meetings, designed to provide a forum for public comments on the future direction of the library, will be occurring in July. Most of the voters in Mendocino County supported additional funding for the library (Measure A) and now we want to provide an opportunity for everyone to become proactive and involved in the future direction of the library.

It is time to find out what direction the community wants the library to go in, what’s working, what’s not working, and what our community wants that isn’t already offered. The meetings, along with an online poll, are part of our efforts to give the residents of Mendocino County a chance to participate in shaping the strategic vision for the libraries.

Meetings are scheduled as follows:

Round Valley Public Library:  – Friday, July 18, 2014 @ 6 pm

23925 Howard St., Covelo, CA 95428   707-983-6736

Coast Community Library:  Thursday, July 24, 2014 @ 6 pm

225 Main Street, Point Arena, CA 95468   707-882-3114
coastcommunitylibrary@yahoo.com

Primarily, meetings will be a time for participants to provide brief comments regarding what they would like to see the Library provide; library staff will remain on site after each session to answer questions about current library services and offerings.

Please join us at one of the above meetings and let your voice be heard. Invite your friends, acquaintances and co-workers. It is important that we hear from a wide variety of community members and your help in reaching out to those who you think would attend is greatly appreciated.
