Brew Pub Book Club
July 24, 2019 @ 7:00 pm - 8:30 pm
This month’s selection:
Noah’s path from apartheid South Africa to the desk of The Daily Show began with a criminal act: his birth. Born to a white Swiss father and a black Xhosa mother, at the time such a union was punishable by five years in prison. As he struggles to find himself in a world where he was never supposed to exist, his mother is determined to save her son from the cycle of poverty, violence, and abuse that would ultimately threaten her own life. With an incisive wit and unflinching honesty, Noah weaves together a moving yet funny portrait of a boy making his way through a damaged world in a dangerous time.
BREW PUB BOOK CLUB
The Brew Pub Book Club is designed for those night owls who’s discussions tend to get a little loud. However, at Overtime, there’s no one around to shush you! So bring a friend and join us in Overtime’s cozy, warm atmosphere, where we’ll eat some snacks and discuss the month’s chosen title.
Stop by Overtime Brewing Co., located at 190 Elm St., Fort Bragg, every 4th Wednesday of the month, 7-8:30ish pm for a fun discussion.
If you have questions about the book club or would like to reserve a copy of the current selection, drop by the library or give us a call @ 707-964-2020.
