National Library Card Sign-up Month
September is Library Card Sign-up Month—a time when the American Library Association and libraries across the country remind the masses that a library card is the key to limitless opportunities.
Since 1987, Library Card Sign-up Month has been held each September to mark the beginning of the school year. It is a time when the ALA and libraries across the country join together to remind parents and children that signing up for a library card is the first step towards academic achievement and lifelong learning. In Celebration of National Library Card Sign-up Month, Fort Bragg Branch Library is throwing a Peanuts Party!
Tell your friends, neighbors, business owners, teachers, everyone! to stop by the library and get their free pass to unending knowledge and worlds they can only dream of visiting, only available through your local library!
Already have a card? Well, throughout the month of September we’re offering to exchange your old, well-worn, ratty, plain card for one of our new, colorful, Mendocino scenes cards free of charge (regularly a $1 replacement fee applies)!
So stop by the library this month for your new card and then help us celebrate your love for the library at our Peanuts Party! September 26, 11-12:30 am, featuring Snoopy and the Charlie Brown gang.
At the party we’ll have Peanuts movies to watch, crafts, stories, a raffle for movie tickets and refreshments.
And don’t forget the new Peanuts Movie comes out in theaters November 6, 2015! We can’t wait! Here’s a little teaser:
See you at the library!
