Mendocino County Library invites you to participate in a Winter Reading Challenge, Cozy up with a Book, from January 1st, through 31st, 2021. While the County Library traditionally offers Summer Reading Programs every year, this January we are offering a Winter Reading Program coinciding with wintertime in North America.

“There’s something so special about Winter Reading. It’s great for all ages and we really see communities come together and join us in achieving these big reading goals,” said Zoobean cofounder Jordan Lloyd Bookey. “Public and school librarians are always looking for ways to better engage their communities, and Winter Reading is the perfect opportunity.”

Cozy up with a Book! honors the comfort that can be had when stuck inside on a cold wintry day and being entertained by a wonderful book, whether it be a graphic novel, mystery, biography, romance, or anything else. Winter Reading participants can read any books they like during the challenge, and each participant is asked to read five or more books to complete their individual challenge.

Participate in Winter Reading by tracking your reading through Beanstack and the Tracker App or contact your local branch for paper reading logs. In both types of logging, readers are asked to track the number of books read. Logging your reading can help to reach the County-wide Library goal of reading a total of 2,500 books in January!

It’s easy to sign up for Cozy up with a Book! To register for Beanstackhere are instructions or contact your local branch for more information. Reading time must be recorded from January 1 to January 31, 2021.
