NEA Big Read Pygmy Forest Guided Walk
NEA BIG READ & CALIFORNIA STATE PARKS
PRESENT
A GUIDED WALK IN THE PYGMY FOREST
Saturday November 3rd, 2018 from 1 to 3 p.m.
FREE TO THE PUBLIC
Join us for a Saturday walk and learn about the pygmy forest! This easy, level, one mile hike will compare the pygmy forest to the nearby redwood forest. We will discuss soil types and the plants and animals that live in the pygmy and find out why some trees are tiny and some trees are gigantic even though they are the same age.
Follow the signs and meet at the Pygmy Forest parking lot within Van Damme State Park located 3 miles east of Highway 1 on Little River Airport Road.
Who knows, maybe you’ll see a faery or two!
Parking lot is small so carpool when possible.
Treasure hunt for children.
Hot chocolate provided.
Event to take place rain or shine.
No dogs please.
