Curbside Seed Library ~ Fall and Winter

Seed Quilt by Carole Poma

Curbside Seed Library ~ Fall and Winter

No one expected the lock down to last as long as it has so when Fort Bragg Seed Library enforced parameters of 20 packets of seed per individual, we only planned it to last through spring. Now we’re approaching the 6 month mark and it’s time to start planning our fall and winter gardens and Fort Bragg Seed Library is resetting the parameters. Those who collected 20 packets between March and August are now free to request 20 more for September through February.

We have quite a selection of seeds for fall and winter: root vegetables, lettuces, spinach and other greens.

To request seeds:

First, see what seeds are available at the Fort Bragg Seed Library using the green button below.

When you have made your selections, click on the orange button and fill out the Seed Request Form. Once your request has been filled by library staff, you will be contacted to set up a time for Curbside Pickup. (note: Seed requests are filled off-site and may take a few days to process)

Mendocino Seed Libraries are online with links to tips for gardening, seed saving, and much more.

Please check us out on Facebook in two places: Mendocino Seed Libraries and The Seed Library at the Round Valley Public Library.

If you find yourself needing more help but social distancing is making it hard, try some of our digital apps for books and videos. For example, you can stream the Great Courses workshop How to Grow Anything instantly on Kanopy or you can check out the eBook “Organic Gardening the Natural No Dig Way” by Charles Dowding on Enki. These items and tons more are available to enjoy right now at your online library.

Happy gardening!
