You can also visit their website at writersmendocino.org.\n		\n		\n	\nAbout Kailyn McCord: \nKailyn writes fiction and nonfiction in Fort Bragg\, California\, where she also teaches writing at Mendocino Community College. Her work has appeared in Ploughshares\, Literary Hub\, Brevity\, The Believer\, The Cincinnati Review\, The Master’s Review\, Alta Journal\, Pleiades\, and New York Magazine\, among others. She holds a BA in English literature from Reed College and an MFA in fiction from the University of New Orleans\, where she was the editor of Bayou Magazine. \nWith support from the Bread Loaf Writers’ Conference\, the Ucross Foundation\, Writing by Writers\, and the Mendocino Coast Writers’ Conference\, Kailyn writes about land\, the West\, fire\, addiction\, and true love. You can also visit their website at writersmendocinocoast.org. \n \nNorma Watkins grew up during the civil rights struggles in Mississippi. She is the author of three books: two memoirs. The Last Resort (2011)\, won a gold medal for the best book published in the South by an independent press; That Woman from Mississippi (2017); and a novel\, In Common (2022). Watkins has a Ph.D. in English and an MFA in Creative Writing. She is Professor Emerita at Miami Dade College where she held an endowed chair. She taught creative writing at College of the Redwoods and Mendocino College.
