DESCRIPTION:Creative Writing Workshop\nWriters of the Mendocino Coast\nWednesday\, February 12\, 2-3:30 pm\nThis month:  POETRY: words to open the heart with Maureen Eppstein\nWriters of the Mendocino Coast are providing free monthly creative writing workshops for adults. All workshops are lead by published authors and will feature different genres and themes each month. \nNo sign-up is required. You can also visit their website at writersmendocino.org.\n		\n		\n	\nAbout Maureen: \n \nMaureen is a fourth generation New Zealander of mostly Irish descent\, now living on the Mendocino Coast of Northern California. Whether living in New Zealand\, England or California\, words have been a central part of her working life. Her newspaper articles have been published in the Christchurch (NZ) Press and the Guardian (UK) among others. She has had fiction\, poetry and memoir pieces in Calyx and other literary journals. Her poetry has been nominated for a Pushcart Prize\, has appeared in numerous journals and anthologies and has been featured in a textbook on computer graphics\, a university geology course and a National Audubon Society report. Her book publications are listed on the Poetry page of her website\, https://www.maureen-eppstein.com/. \nHer career also includes twenty years as writer and editor of administrative policy and procedure documents at Stanford University and founder of a newsletter for the university’s administrative staff. She’s a past executive director of the Mendocino Coast Writers Conference and has taught poetry workshops at College of the Redwoods and for the Waverley Writers poetry group in Palo Alto\, CA. \n  \n
